OUR VISION
Safe Haven Trust is an Organisation of Professional Zimbabweans that aims to use our expertise to work on behalf of established Zimbabwean Orphanages and Organisations that provide support to the children orphaned by the AIDS epidemic in Zimbabwe. It is our mission to raise funding for and on behalf of our Partner Organisations in order to give them financial support for the work they carry out in Zimbabwe. We will do this by challenging the consciousness and practices around donor strategies. We seek to engage with donor agencies to build sustainable donor models that impact in providing real change to the lives of orphaned children in Zimbabwe through projects that provide shelter, safety, sustenance, education, health, emotional support and a chance for every child in their care to live the life of a child.
Our goal is to give orphaned children in Zimbabwe the chance to improve their lives through education, health and a secure positive environment that gives them room to mature and grow up naturally over time while learning to deal with the trauma of losing their loved ones. We seek to build effective and lasting relationships with aid agencies, donor organisations and international, regional, national, and community stakeholders that have an interest in plight of orphaned children. Through our integrity, stringent governance and sound financial policies we seek to shift perceptions and practices away from aid reliance, towards sustainable models that are relevant and built within context.
OUR VALUES
Ubuntu- We value the life of any individual not on the basis of their race, colour, creed, religion, culture or tribal origin, sex or social standing but purely because of the fact that we were all created equal. Our programs will foster cooperation between different ethnic, racial and cultural groups.
Integrity- In every aspect we treasure the integrity of the individuals we work with and those we serve. As an organisation our standards of professionalism and transparency show our commitment to the integrity and honesty of our people.
Team Work- From the realization that alone we cannot effect change we actively encourage team work within our organisation and aim to inspire all those with whom we work to collectively make every effort to strengthen our organisation, lend credence to our work, and bring harmony in the work place.
Partnership - We aspire to be a development partner of any organisation, institution or individual with the interests of Zimbabwe at heart. We aim to foster and create meaningful and strategic partnerships with any organisation working on the ground in Zimbabwe or looking to invest in Zimbabwe.
